Many interesting and amazing events have taken place in the world which amaze everyone and the history is full of such events.
In this news we tell you about a mosque in Spain where the call to prayer cannot be given.
There was a time in Spain when there was a Muslim government. At that time Muslims were very serious about construction and development in Spain.
An important symbol of Muslims in southern Spain is the Mosque of Cordoba(Qurtaba). The Mosque of Cordoba(Qurtaba) was built on the banks of the river Al-Kabeer, where the Church of St. Vincent was located. Since Muslims used to offer prayers in half of this building, Abdul Rahman I Al-Dakhil(founder of umayyad arab dynasty) paid a heavy price and dedicated this building to the Christians for the mosque.
The mosque, built with 80,000 dinars, was completed in two years, while its minaret and structure are such that it attracts everyone's attention. The mosque, consisting of more than 1400 pillars, had double arches installed on the pillars. There was a chandelier in the main hall of the mosque in which a thousand lamps were lit simultaneously.
Marble, diamond jewelry was also used here, and the walls and floors were decorated with beautiful stones. While this mosque had 21 doors. The pulpit of the mosque was made of 36,000 pieces of fragrant precious wood, which were fastened with gold and silver nails, while the verses of the Holy Quran were engraved on the walls and roof of the mosque with beautiful calligraphy.
But after the fall of the Muslim government in 1326, just as other mosques were treated, Christians did so with this also. And then 10 years later in 1246 this mosque was also converted into a church. A Catholic church was established in the center of the mosque where Christians worshiped. But Muslims could not call to prayer or pray there.
But Allama Iqbal, the poet of the East, first gave the call to prayer in 1931. This call to prayer was heard 800 years later on the door and wall of this mosque. Which was revealing this scene and history.
In 2006, Muslims asked Pope Benedict for permission to worship at the Cordoba Grand Mosque, which was denied. Instead, the Spanish government sold it to the church in 2014 for 30 euros. According to the law of the land, this mosque has been declared the property of the church.
